Banff – January – Moving from Pano

26 January 2007

Geez!!
I cannot believe it!! Where should I start!?
After handing in my letter of notice, everybody went all cold on me at Panorama! My otherwise friendly manager Amanda Sharko didn’t speak to me, she didn’t even say goodbye. (!) My supervisors also went cold on me, turned their backs. The last days at work were kind of fun in that strange way that I finally had a goal and I felt that everything was coming together.
When I went to the Employee Experience office to sort out some paperwork my favourite EE Coordinator Nicole Morgan who used to be quite friendly helped me to sort out the paperwork she was also being frigid, cold and short in her sentences. Her manager Kristina also popped out and said some bitter comments. Not fun, and it drained my energy. I was already tired since my flatmates woke me up at 2am so it was a relief to be able to sit back into the car and just leave Panorama.
I went to Gerry’s in Invermere and got myself a soup (try his soups they are ABSOLUTLY fantastic!!) called a friend about some things and went to the bank to sort some things out there too and just after noon I left for Banff. I had a lot of thoughts going through my mind during my two hour drive, unfortunately not very nice thoughts. I had quite a few things to sort out in my mind after that energy draining morning.
The funny thing is that the closer to Banff I got, the lighter became my mind. Even funnier was that when I was leaving Kootenay National Park and entering Banff National Park, you cross from British Columbia into Alberta, the cloudy and grey skies broke up and just when I entered Alberta and Banff National Park it became clear blue skies and a strong wonderful sun!
Suddenly the smile came back on my face and I felt that I was heading the right way in life again! Some good tunes was again picked up by the radio antenna. Life’s good and I am again living life!
Of some strange reason I found my way directly to the resort without getting lost. When I checked in Jamie just called and said they will hook me up with staff accom directly instead of waiting until Monday. I got an okay room for now, but I will have a look at another one within a week or so, Jamie just had to pull some strings (seems like he is doing a lot of pulling for me). I just hope I can fulfill his expectations of me and that I can make as much out of this work as he has promised.
Just before he left me for the night he said…  “In next couple of weeks I will send you on a snowmobile tour with Toby Creek Adventures (funny enough at Panorama!!) and a dogsled tour!” The dogsled tour originated in my last visit where we were talking about things to do here in Banff and I saw some doggies and said I would love to try that, since it looks SO nice!
This means ALOT to me, a boss that actually LISTENS to what I want to do and it also means I feel so lucky and privileged to be able to do all these things!
From a kind of sad note to a VERY bright one in just one day!! UNBELIEVABLE!
Photos and some movie clips coming soon!

It’s all done. The rental car is returned, and I am back in Banff.
After 10minutes on the Greyhound it stopped at Windermere Esso station and guess who was there!? Colin and Rob! I knew they were leaving Pano too, but it was a nice surprise to see them again. I thought that yesterday when I said goodbye to them at Horsetheif 309 it would be the last time I would see them. They bought a ticket to Calgary, and I hope they get a job so they can save up some to be able to come back to Banff. I did my best to make them stay in Banff but they already made plans for Calgary.
We said goodbye at Banff’s Brewsters bus station and I promised to send an email to them both so we could keep in contact plus a link to this site so they could re-live the memories from Pano.
In a few days my Canadian Webshop for Herbalife products will also have its launch. Please make sure to check back for a web address to the store and have a look at it.
Alright People, hope you enjoy the film clips and pictures!!
C ya soon!
