World Heritage Areas

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) seeks to encourage the identification, protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity.

These are the World Heritage Areas I have visited and further down you will find a long list of places I want to visit. The year inside the first brackets (1981) is the year it was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Areas, and the year (1999-2001) in the second brackets is the year I visited it.
