Fish-Hunting or Hunt-Fishing?
I received this through an email and I am not sure who the people are, but it such a neat story I couldn’t resist to post it!
Another story on this story: http://blogs.discovery.com/animal_oddities/2011/12/deer-avoid-drowning-by-boarding-charter-boat.html
“The Best Day Of Fishing Ever!
Some fishing stories are a little hard to believe, But this guy has pictures to prove his story…
I’ve heard of salmon jumping into boats, but never anything quite like this…
Tom Satre told the Sitka Gazette that he was out with a charter group on his 62-foot fishing vessel when four juvenile black-tailed deer swam directly toward his boat.
“Once the deer reached the boat, the four began to circle the boat, looking directly at us. We could tell right away that the young bucks were distressed.
I opened up my back gate and we helped the typically skittish and absolutely wild animals onto the boat. In all my years fishing, I’ve never seen anything quite like it!
Once onboard, they collapsed with exhaustion, shivering.”
“This is a picture I took of the rescued bucks on the back of my boat, the Alaska Quest.
We headed for Taku Harbour. Once we reached the dock, the first buck that we had been pulled from the water hopped onto the dock, looked back as if to say ‘thank you’ and disappeared into the forest. After a bit of prodding and assistance, two more followed, but the smallest deer needed a little more help.
This is me carrying the little guy.
My daughter, Anna, and son, Tim, helped the last buck to its feet. We didn’t know how long they had been in the icy waters or if there had been others who did not survive. My daughter later told me that the experience was something that she would never forget, and I suspect the deer felt the same way as well!”
I told you!”
Awesome… huh?
Academic Article Topics and Ideas Needed
Greetings,
Starting next semester I will be writing an essay on the topic:
“Could we have a Green World in 30years?
- Is it Possible?
- What Would it Take?”
I want to hear your ideas, your knowledge and your points of view! If you work within the area or you just have opinions it does not matter, I want to hear from you either way. If you do have references, suggestions on readings etc I would welcome them with open arms.

Washington State Road Trip – Completed
It’s been a while, it’s also been ridiculously busy.
Last Thursday it was Remembrance Day. The Friday was a perfect opportunity to take of to make it a long weekend.
Cat and I, decided early to not only celebrate the fallen soldiers, but also our 18months anniversary by going for a trip to the mainland. Read the rest of this entry »
Hockey almost over for the season..
10 games, 6goals, 5assist, 3penalty minutes and finish up as the top goalscorer and the top player with most points for the Spring league in our team. As you guys perhaps already know, I played for The Islanders and I had a blast getting to know the guys, and hopefully I’ll find a spot for the fall! As a team, we didn’t do too well.. 2 wins, 9 losses which made us the worst team in the series… :) Read the rest of this entry »
Great hockey last night!
It all comes to show that it is impossible to be satisfied with something great. You always want something nicer, bigger, grander, better etc..
I was not too happy with my contributions last night, I felt I could do lots better, but in reality I did quite well.
We won the game 6-4 and I scored the first, third, fourth and fifth goal (Four goals total) and a couple of them quite important goals, when the game was tied and either team could have scored and made our lives miserable! What differed this game compared to any other game, was that I got my own jersey (#21 – Forsberg – not my personal choice, but it seem to work well). Let’s see next game if the success continues!
I’m hoping to get in another couple of training sessions more per week to increase my speed and endurance.
Icehockey – Spring League – Island hockey 101
Well, I’m finally over my fever (4days of relentless fever and headaches) and due to that I missed our first game. Might as well perhaps, since we lost with 9-0.

Face-lift initiated…
Hey guys,
Ok, so the second semester is officially over and I finally got some time to slow down and not do anything. So to keep me busy, I created a new theme for the website from scratch and I am still working on to get some more flash into the site for cooler presentations of pictures and movies.
I hope you like it!
