Australia – January 2000

January 2000!! **Millenium Change**

7-6-5-4-3-2-1 – 2000!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR was everybody screaming when the whole city of Sydney went on fire and especially the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House! The half an hour fireworks were so stunning so when we talk about them afterwards we couldn’t find words to describe them. After more discussion about the firework we came and think of the word WOW!!!

I had an American behind me where I was and took the midnight photos and he and his girlfriend was just screaming and screaming, saying words like wooooiiii!! And yelled out: Screw New York!! This is the place, this is the place to be, and we are just in the middle of it!!! He gave me some really good Champagne and shook my hand and wished me a Happy New Year!

Australia – February 1999

990214 It’s Sunday today and can hear a church play there hymns outside my window, I got home late last night after I’ve been to the Desperate & Dateless Ball at Dreamworld little south of Brisbane… (like Disneyland but smaller)

The Ball was a BALL !!!! REALLY OKAY !!! It was so good that I will go next year too..

For those who does not know what this is I tell you, it’s like a blind-date ball first you apply with a special form and send it in, then a computer matches you up with a date and then send out your telephone number to your date.. Read the rest of this entry »

Australia – February 1999

990211 Now I am on the Hostel, in Brisbane and I have just have had my first good night sleep in 5 days and it was really okay, but there was a big container truck just outside my window who woke me up after my 8 hour sleep.

I have no clue what to do today in Brisbane, but here is almost 1,3 million people, living on the Gold Coast of Australia so I think I will find something to do..

Australia – February 1999

990210 I have done quite some in my first day in Brisbane, I had time to walk around and look at things you don’t have time to do if you are just passing by. I open two bank accounts on Australia’s oldest bank; Commonwealth bank of Australia So now I can transfer my money to Australia, when ever I want. I joined Greenpeace Aus.

Not as an sponsor but as an activist who really does something about the environment, for example, the Great Barrier reef outside Brisbane to Cairns there is dead reef km after km and I think this so tragic not only because I love diving , but this is the worlds biggest living organism, and we are killing it.

Ooh, yes, I forgot to tell you … My backpack wasn’t with the flight so I should call tomorrow and cheek for it..

But it feels really nasty to not have so many clothing to change between. I spoke to my friend Isa today and we decided to meet up at the tourist information hut downtown tomorrow afternoon so we could talk about whatever.

And for my friends in Sweden who use to follow the series of JAG, Judge Advocate General Corp ( Heder o Samvete) I can tell you that I have seen the follow up to the ending of last year, you know when Harm and Sarah was hijacking a MiG29 and was shoot down over Russia.

Those of you who would like to know how it went for Harm and Sarah just ask me and I tell you.

Australia – February 1999

990209 At 0950pm local time I was on the aeroplane to Brisbane, and we passed the equator at 5000 meters at a speed 580 km/hours.

Now we are just outside Jakarta at 11277 meters and it’s minus 41 degrees outside the window, and I can tell you that when we left Singapore we had 27 degrees. We have now a speed of 864 km/h and we have 6 hours and 11 minutes to landing in Australia and that is 5800 km left.
